Thursday, March 17, 2022, 7 pm, Hybrid Event (In-person and virtual)
Emma Lyon Bryan truly was a “Jill of All Trades” who created a variety of artistic and literary works throughout her life while also raising a family and privately teaching school. This presentation will show how the Richmond native and Harrisonburg transplant used her talents to fashion her own historical record of the Civil War in Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley and how it would be remembered.
Dale’s presentation is based on the research he did for his article published in the most recent issue of the Journal of the Shenandoah Valley During the Civil War Era, on sale now in the Rocktown History Center bookstore.
Dale Harter will present his talk to a live audience at Rocktown History, 382 High St., Dayton, VA, 22821. A livestream option is planned, but there are technical kinks which need to be smoothed out. Stay tuned!
