All memberships are per household and include free gallery admission, discounts in our museum bookstore and research support, and the Quarterly Newsletter via email.

Individual $30, Family $40

includes free gallery admission; members-only access to online research resources; 10% bookstore discount; discounts on paid research fees, copies, and record requests; discounted guest gallery passes.

Enhanced $50+

includes all Individual/Family benefits, plus additional free guest gallery passes and behind-the-scenes tours.

Historic $500+

includes all Individual/Family and Enhanced benefits, plus unlimited free guest passes, VIP invitations, and access.

How long is my membership active?

Memberships are active for one year.

Do I need to renew every year?

Yes. Our easy online automatic renewal option takes renewing off your to-do list and reduces administrative costs.

Can I renew online?

Yes. While you are there, set up the easy automatic renewal option!

How can I upgrade my membership?

Upgrading is simple. Select a new membership level when you renew online, or contact us to help you during your membership year.

Do I have to be a member to visit?

No, but members receive free admission to the galleries.

Do I have to be a member to do research?

No, but members have access to more information online and receive discounts on fees (copies, images, paid research).

Do I have to be a member in order to volunteer?

No, but volunteers often choose to join because they love supporting the organization in multiple ways.

Do I have to live in Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, or Virginia to be a member?

No. Members live across the country!

Will I receive the quarterly newsletter?

Yes. All members receive a digital copy of the newsletter and can also opt in to receive a paper copy in the mail.

Can I also make donations and other charitable gifts to Rocktown History?

Absolutely. We are a 501(c)3 organization and the gifts you make to Rocktown History are tax deductible. Donations of all sizes are used to fund important museum projects and exhibits as well as critical operating expenses.
