Swiss Anabaptist History in Virginia
Friday and Saturday, April 17-18, 2026. Hosted by Lindale Mennonite Church.

The Swiss Anabaptist Genealogical Association welcomes everyone interested in local history to enjoy open houses and special programs highlighting Anabaptist history in the Shenandoah Valley.

Lindale Mennonite Church will open its fellowship hall on Friday at 9 am and remain open throughout the day to provide information, directions, maps, restrooms, book sales, SAGA tutorials, and opportunities for fellowship.
The church is located five miles north of Harrisonburg just east of Route 42.
Start your exploration on Friday, April 17th, by touring participating sites, including open houses at locations which are not regularly open to the public.
The church will provide a buffet dinner at 6 pm. Reservation with $22 advance payment required by April 1.*
Karl Rhodes will present The Anabaptist Underground Railroad after the dinner. The presentation is free and open to the public.
On Saturday, April 18th, at 8:15 am, participants will gather for late registration, coffee, and the annual meeting (all are welcome to attend).
There will be two presentations following the meeting: Two Amish Mavericks presented by Loren Johns and Mennonites in Virginia: Families, Faith, and Outreach presented by Elwood Yoder. Both presentations are free and open to the public.
The church will offer a light lunch at noon. Reservation with $12 advance payment greatly appreciated by April 1.*
